Meadowbrook Townhomes for Sale in Corte Madera

Set between Ring Mountain Nature Preserve and the San Francisco Bay, Meadowcreek Station is ideally located in Central Marin-- a most desirable place to live. Designed by William Turnbull Associates(award winning architect of the Sea Ranch condos on the Sonoma Coast) and built from 1987 to 1990, Meadowcreek provides unusually creative and livable floor plans. Every model of town home or condo optimizes light, space, and privacy.

The lush outdoor environment includes a 1.6 acre central park and award-winning landscaping, with a wide variety of mature trees. The Upper San Clemente Creek runs along two sides of the site, providing a habitat for migrating birds, small fish, and an occasional otter. Biking and hiking trails start at the edge of the property.

The Corte Madera-Larkspur public schools are ranked among the highest in the state and several fine private schools are a short distance down Paradise Drive. The Corte Madera library is just over the freeway.

History

Meadowcreek is in on the site of the original Rancho Corte de Madera de Presidio, a land grant from Mexico to settler John Reed in 1834. Reed established a successful saw mill on Corte Madera Creek, and used his earnings to pay for the grant. The timber helped to build San Francisco. After California statehood in 1850, Reed Station was acquired by the Gardiner family, and soon became a dairy farm. In 1873, The North Pacific Coast Railway crossed the northern boundary of Meadowcreek, then through Ring Mountain to the ferry dock in Tiburon. By 1900 there was a racetrack on the present site of Meadowcreek!
