Marin Nonprofit Furniture Bank Can Help You Move While Helping Others

Home sellers often need to dispose of excess furniture and housewares. This is often time-consuming and frustrating — trying to sell these items can be difficult and provides only a fraction of the original price. Make It Home, a non-profit furniture bank, provides an efficient option that simplifies your life while helping others.

Helping You

  1. You can easily find out if Make It Home will accept your items.
  2. Just fill out and submit a Furniture Donation Form online.
  3. Make It Home helps arrange your furniture pickup for a small fee. By donating this way, you avoid the fees you would have to pay for hauling and considerable recycling fees.
  4. If Make It Home can accept your items, you will receive a tax receipt.

Helping Others

Make It Home is a non-profit furniture bank that provides gently used furniture and household goods to individuals and families who need help during difficult times, to rebuild their lives – and for whom even the simplest of furnishings are unaffordable.

Partnering with local social service agencies who identify clients in need throughout the Bay Area’s seven counties, Make It Home’s dedicated volunteers create and deliver home environments for women and children escaping abusive domestic situations, foster kids aging out and getting a first home of their own, people coming out of shelters or halfway houses, individuals and families in recovery from physical and mental illness or addiction, refugees and recent immigrants to the U.S., victims of fires, floods or hurricanes and veterans. Thus far, Make It Home has decorated 2,785 households, serving more than 6,700 people.

Helping the Environment

By collecting and repurposing used furnishings and household goods, Make It Home has saved over 3,000 tons of furniture from going into landfills. Make It Home is a Certified California Green Business.
