The Ross Common neighborhood on the east side of Sir Frances Drake Blvd. is the oldest part of town, established in the 19th century. The east side provides community gathering places: the Town Square (Ross Common), Ross Elementary School, a small shopping area, the post office (where everyone picks up their mail), and churches.
